Children's Tutoring
Buddy Reading
The Teton Literacy Program offers elementary students one-on-one tutoring at the end of their school day. Tutor and student work on reading and writing activities determined by the student's teacher and TLP staff. Students and tutors meet in the child's classroom one day per week from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The TLP Children’s Program staff provides training and support for the tutors throughout their experience.

After School Tutor Program
The Teton Literacy Program offers an intensive program for elementary students in grades one and two. The program begins in September and continues through the end of March. Students and tutors meet at the TLP office from 3:45-4:45 two days per week. Lesson plans are written by staff, and trained tutors work one-on-one with a student following the lesson plan to develop reading and writing skills. Ongoing support and training is provided to tutors throughout their experience.

Classroom Support
The Teton Literacy Program offers classroom support to elementary school teachers. Trained volunteers enter the classroom on a day and time specified by the teacher and may work one-on-one with a student or a small group of students. Teachers provide the direction and materials to assist the volunteer while working with students.

To apply for a volunteer position, please fill out the Volunteer form (PDF) and bring it by the office. For more information, call (307) 733-9242.
